In 3 words describe your pattern design style?

Hand-painted versatile flowers

What is your work & design process?

Most of my designs are hand-painted with watercolor, scanned and digitised. Depending on the trends and the end application, I can either work with watercolor layout or turn it into graphic silhouettes and organic shapes which would be convenient for screen printing. I love explore Photoshop endless features and sometimes add different textures or overlays to the design. But sometimes it is very important to stop at the right moment.

Where do you find your design inspiration?

I have a huge collection of my own photo references both from Norwegian gardens and landscapes as well as from and travelling to some tropical countries. I love reading about art history and visit museums, so I often get my inspiration from vintage books, graphics, ceramics and old masters pictures.

What advice would you give to new designers?

It takes time to master your skills and get noticed. Be patient, constantly train your painting and designing skills, keep your keys open and explore trends.
