The Red Steps design originates from an observational study using a viewfinder to isolate and frame the geometric structure of a staircase. The design was then translated into a lino cut print, a process that enhances the strong graphic quality of the design. The nature of the lino cut introduces subtle textural variations, ensuring that each printed section retains a tactile, organic feel. By using a block repeat layout, the integrity of the original print is preserved. The result is a contemporary yet timeless pattern, adaptable for a variety of textile applications.
