Iris Van Herpen Fashion Collides With Technology trend forecasts

Dutch designer Iris van Herpen’s stunning collection ‘Voltage’ for Spring/Summer 2013, was inspired by ‘Imaginary Beings: Mythologies of the Not Yet’ at the Centre Pompidou, Paris last spring. This collection of 3D printing by Dr. Neri Oxman,( a professor, architect, designer and artist) motivated her to collaborate with Oxman, Austrian architect Julia Koerner  and 3D specialist Stratasys to produce pieces for her  architectural collection. Patternbank loves the futuristic, otherworldly quality created by this truly mind-blowing technology. To see more from ‘Voltage’ and to explore Van Herpen’s philosophy behind the collection visit her website. Photography by Boy Kortekaas,Ronald Stoops and Michel Zoeter.
