Antonio Marras Pre Fall 2013 Collection catwalks

Patternbank are big fans of Antonio Marras who always delivers when it comes to print, pattern and a love of fabrics, embroidery and embellishment. This Pre Fall 2013 collection didn’t fail to delight with beautifully executed floral prints mixed with geometric and paisley patterns. Exquisite jacquard coats and knitwear featured textured pattern and small tie motifs. It’s not surprising then that Marras was previously artistic director at Kenzo where mixing inspirations, costume, textiles and contemporary art goes hand in hand. Susan Chrysler White Powerful Pattern and Form inspiration

Patternbank love these paintings by Iowa artist Susan Chrysler White. Susan experiments with a variety of techniques, printing and pouring paint to create intense layers and depth in her paintings. Explorations in the bilateral Roscharch-like image and organic inspired figures can be found hidden within decorative elements of her work. The result is real vibrancy and powerful plays with pattern and form, mixing elements of sculpture and movement. Check out more of her work and incredible 3D-like chandeliers at susanchryslerwhite.com

Irena Zablotzka Surrealist Illustration inspiration

Ukranian illustrator Irena Zablotzka attributes much of her inspiration to childhood memories of psychedelic, soviet cartoons, ‘The Music Box’ and ‘The Mystery of the Third Planet’. Zablotzka felt a need to express her emotions through drawing and describes her work as ‘elegant horror’. Patternbank loves her bold use of colour and her surreal, dreamlike depictions of sinister creatures. Take a peek at her Flickr pages.

Xero Lino, Superimposed impressions and Optical Research Amelie Petit Moreau inspiration

Patternbank love Amelie Petit Moreau’s series of engravings and linocuts. Her work is varied but the underlying theme of monochromatic stripes, geometric patterns and experiments with scanning and photography is a feast for the eyes. In the Xero Lino series Moreau prints linocuts on bamboo paper and then experiments with scanning to create some great effects. You can see more of her work at ameliepetitmoreau.com
