Pushing digital boundaries in computer aided art can be powerful and visually stimulating. Berlin based ZEITGUISED are masters in digital expression and are at the cutting edge of computer based image manipulation. Their portfolio is full of inspirational visual projects but this collection, Sample Sample caught our eye. These amazing portraits are the work of graphic designer and self-taught Finnish photographer Christoffer Relander. The Patternbank team were stunned by his creative experimentation that generate these double and triple exposure images. Heavy contrast adjustment help blend nature and human form in these fascinating photo artworks. Using his trusted Nikon D700 and some skillful work in iLightroom editing suite, Relander creates a series of beautifully captivating statements.

These amazing digital patterns are the latest offerings by Vienna based design studio Atelier Olschinsky. City Transformer is a set of digitally rendered cityscapes, that take on a futuristic abstract vibe. These amazing 3D digital organic forms are the experimental work of Travess Smalley. With gems and mineral forms trending heavily at the moment, these abstract computer enhanced visual really caught our eye. Through a combination of computer hardware and software, he pushes aesthetic boundaries in ways not seen before. Check out more of his work on his portfolio site.
Today we present tchmo, a multi-talented artist who draws inspiration from sources as varied as clouds, French culture and the streets of Montreal, Quebec. According to the artists website: I mash things up! The end result is bright, fascinating and deliciously trippy. His work can be viewed on Tchmo.com and purchased on Society6.
Experimenting with new techniques can be a key part of elevating artworks. Patternbank recently stumbled across Kris Trappeniers a Belgium – based artist. Describing himself as a “paper sculptor” we were in awe at his incredibly delicate portraits. Using just a ballpoint pen and a sharp scalpel Trappeniers painstakingly cuts out his artworks to create these linear halftone effects – simply stunning stuff.
Glitch art is a major evolving trend within live visuals, web graphics, festivals and apparel graphics. Patternbank spotted this creative illustrator whose work grabbed our attention recently. Sebastian Onufszak has etched into the industry with a fresh perspective, evident in his captivating graphic statements.
Polish born illustrator, designer and director Sebastian Onufszak has been working for an international range of high-end clients in the fields of print, interactive and motion media as a self-employed designer. His commercial and personal works were featured in numerous design publications and exhibitions worldwide.
