Diela Maharani Psychedelic Technicolour Worlds inspiration

Indonesian artist Diela Maharani  lives and works in Jakarta with her husband and fellow Illustrator/comic artist. Drawing was a just hobby for Diela during her lunch breaks when she worked as a corporate accountant, but quickly she realized this was where her true passion lay. For 5 years now she has been a professional artist and has discovered herself, through her work. Patternbank love her bold, vibrant use of colour and the strong sense of pattern, which features heavily in her work. For more news and a feast of illustration visit her Facebook page.

David Maisel Terminal Mirage inspiration

These mesmerising aerial photographs of The Great Salt Lake in Northwestern Utah are a surreal mix of abstract shapes and deep colours that challenge the viewer as to the scale and origin of these large scale photographs. Some of the images clearly show the evaporation ponds that are commercially operated to extract salts and minerals for industrial use. See more of David’s extraordinary photographs on his website.

Ramona Ring Provocative, Linea Illustration inspiration

For an artist still completing her degree at the University of Applied Science in Hamburg, Ramona Ring has an astonishing maturity of style and technique. Using a combination of hand drawn illustrations and digital effects, Ramona builds her artwork in layers. Using only pencil and paper initially, her work is then scanned and coloured in photoshop. Patternbank love her use of strong linea imagery and subtle colour combinations which create texture and pattern in her art. For more news visit her Tumblr. Some illustrations featured in this post are work created for ZEIT magazin.
