Jason Thielke – Laser-etched Beauty

Patternbank are loving Jason Thielke’s stylised linear interpretations of the human form. Jason Thielke’s beautiful imagery navigates the astoundingly complex dynamics of human nature, mixing a hard linear style with soft and fluid emotion. Thielke combines many different techniques which include acrylic paintings, block printing, pencil drawings and his signature laser-etching techniques, which have real visual impact. Jason Thielke earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University School of Art. His work has been featured internationally in galleries and art fairs, with solo exhibitions in Denver, Portland and Seattle.

Amrei Hofstätter – Japan Inspired Digital Design

Berlin based Artist/ Illustrater Amrei Hofstätter is a self admitted Origami obsessive. The Japanese paper art is evident in her work, adding the charateristic shapes and dimension. The idea of misbalance and imperfection serves as inspiration, and her interest in Freud’s idea of the ‘uncanny’ and the human psyche, fuel her desire to create a feeling of irritation within the viewer, evoking something inside they were not yet aware of. Susan Chrysler White – Powerful Pattern and Form

Patternbank love these paintings by Iowa artist Susan Chrysler White. Susan experiments with a variety of techniques, printing and pouring paint to create intense layers and depth in her paintings. Explorations in the bilateral Roscharch-like image and organic inspired figures can be found hidden within decorative elements of her work. Bold colour and striking pattern are characteristic in her paintings, prints, designs, drawings and photography. Patternbank love Amelie Petit Moreau’s series of engravings and linocuts. Her work is varied but the underlying theme of monochromatic stripes, geometric patterns and experiments with scanning and photography is a feast for the eyes. ‘New Levels’ is an experimental collection of work by John Chae. Here Chae mixes surreal Pop art techniques with anime visuals to create a real modern twist on Escher style. The Patternbank team love the fresh new aesthetic and fractured effects created in these mesmerizing artworks. Chae was born in Boulder, Colorado but grew up in Seoul, Korea. He studied painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art and after graduating moved to Brooklyn.
