Michael Dickter Fleeting Moments of the Natural World inspiration

As paint drips down the canvas we are reminded of the urgency in time to record our thoughts and visions of the world around us. These fleeting moments when beauty surprises and astounds us are shared in Dickter’s desire to create and record the natural world. Dickter captures this with exquisiteness in marks, colour and paint, images of birds and flowers that appear frozen for us to enjoy. You can see more of these fleeting moments at michaeldickter.com

Magical Fractal Wonderland C 91 inspiration

More amazing fractals by the talented Silvia C. from Italy, rather than focus on her floral designs, as we did here – we focus on her more abstract creations that look like incredible macro photographs of jewels, fungi and plants from a magical wonderland. This is Fractalism taken to the next level – see more of her work on Deviant Art.

Madame Peripetie Fashion, Sculpture and the Human Body inspiration

Patternbank love Madame Peripetie’s surreal interpretations of the human body. Through high-fashion, sculpture, photography and collage Peripetie explores the boundaries between these disciplines experimenting with colour, fabric, texture and patterns. Her inspirations include surrealism, dadadism, the new wave era of the 80′s, British post punk scene and the avant-garde theatre of Robert Wilson. Check out more of her work at madameperipetie.com and on behance.net

Anne Sofie Melgaard Tropical Garden Displays inspiration

Anne Sofie Melgaard manages to convey such wonderful texture and colour-use in her paintings of tropical gardens. Foliage appears in relief next to vividly painted tropical flowers that stand proud, all fighting to be noticed. The vases and bowls the plants jostle in are just as important in their decoration with fun geometric patterns, that you almost want to go and create your own brightly coloured garden! Melgaard is exhibiting at Bie & Vadstrup Gallery in Copenhagen, Denmark in March 2013 and you can see more of her magical work at annesofiemeldgaard.com.
