Indonesian artist Diela Maharani  lives and works in Jakarta with her husband and fellow Illustrator/comic artist. Drawing was a just hobby for Diela during her lunch breaks when she worked as a corporate accountant, but quickly she realized this was where her true passion lay. For 5 years now she has been a professional artist and has discovered herself, through her work. These mesmerising aerial photographs of The Great Salt Lake in Northwestern Utah are a surreal mix of abstract shapes and deep colours that challenge the viewer as to the scale and origin of these large scale photographs. Acid Baby is Magdalena Kapinos creative portfolio tumblr site. The Patternbank team recently stumbled across Kapinos work and were keen to share. Magdalena Kapinos, is a graphic designer based in Szczecin, Poland has a great visual eye for branding, logo work and stunning digital illustration. Her Digital illustration work was something that caught our eye. Random rich pattern, vivid colour accents mix with digital brushwork and surreal subject matter to create some beautifully dramatic pieces. Ramona Ring   Provocative, Linea Illustration inspiration

For an artist still completing her degree at the University of Applied Science in Hamburg, Ramona Ring has an astonishing maturity of style and technique. Using a combination of hand drawn illustrations and digital effects, Ramona builds her artwork in layers. Using only pencil and paper initially, her work is then scanned and coloured in photoshop. Patternbank love her use of strong linea imagery and subtle colour combinations which create texture and pattern in her art. Ann ten Donkelaar  Intricate Fairytale Gardens inspiration

Detail and delicacy are the qualities which stand out in artist Ann ten Donkelaar’s intricate relief work. Donkelaar lives and works in Utrecht, Netherlands where she gathers small pieces of nature. Broken butterflies, flowers and weeds are collected from her garden, “What I enjoy the most about being creative is the collecting of the materials and creating the composition.
I like working with flowers and insects because they are so small and complicated elements. I just fascinated from there forms and colors.”
these are then collaged together with cut out images of flowers an displayed in relief to form intricate almost fairytale gardens. See more from her collection on her website.

Mary Kate McDevitt is a letterer and illustrator living and working in Portland, OR. Mary Kate graduated from Tyler School of Art in 2007 with a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. She worked as a designer at a studio in Lancaster, PA for 2 years. In 2010, Mary Kate moved out to Portland, OR to pursue a career as a freelance illustrator and artist and we’re glad she did, as she is creating some beautiful hand drawn lettering, Illustration and Typography.
