Jimmy Turrell Fresh Retro Illustration graphics

Loving the work of London-based Illustrator Jimmy Turrell – he studied Graphic Design rather than Illustration at Central St. Martins. He uses a mixture of hand-made collage, drawing, screenprinting and painting alongside digital techniques which gives his work a uniquely retro feel, yet still feeling very modern, clean and fresh. It’s not only us that like him, he’s worked for some great clients such as Nike, Universal Music, Levis, MTV, Conde Nast and Sony Music to name but a few. Check more of his work at jimmyturrell.com

Surreal Collage Compositions Beth Hoeckel inspiration

After visiting the recent Bread & Butter show in Berlin, the Patternbank team saw that photographic prints are still featuring strong for Spring/Summer 2013 graphics. Colourful, surreal prints are still a main focus for many brands for next summer. With this in mind we thought we’d share these imaginary photo collage prints from Beth Hoeckel. Mixing realist and surrealist Hoeckel’s work plays with the juxtaposition between foreground and background objects. Baltimore based Hoeckel is a collage artist and photographer who loves the control of real paper, ink and adhesive.
