Typographical Fun Statements Andy Smith graphics

Mixing humour with beautifully hand crafted typography is where illustrator Andy Smith excels. The Patternbank team love his quirky offbeat type statements that have real energy and impact. Smith studied at the University of Brighton and the Royal College of Art and now lives by the sea in Hastings, East Sussex. We first spotted his work at Pick Me Up(contemporary art fair) at Somerset House and have continued to follow his inspiring work. See more  of his work here at asmithillustration.com

Chad Hagen – Playful Geometrics inspiration

Playful geometrics mimicking information graphs come with a hint of nostalgia in Chad Hagen’s work – yet everything still feels very contemporary, clean cut and fresh. Alongside working with geometric shapes to create these pieces monochromatic disjointed imagery, typography and precise linear illustrations highlight his real attention for detail. Jimmy Turrell Fresh Retro Illustration graphics

Loving the work of London-based Illustrator Jimmy Turrell – he studied Graphic Design rather than Illustration at Central St. Martins. He uses a mixture of hand-made collage, drawing, screenprinting and painting alongside digital techniques which gives his work a uniquely retro feel, yet still feeling very modern, clean and fresh. It’s not only us that like him, he’s worked for some great clients such as Nike, Universal Music, Levis, MTV, Conde Nast and Sony Music to name but a few. Check more of his work at jimmyturrell.com

Digital Print Stimulation Basso & Brooke S/S12 Prints print pattern

With experimental digital prints continuing to trend for Spring/Summer 2013, the Patternbank crew spotted these amazing photo collage prints by Brit/Brazilian duo Basso & Brooke. These prints are from their current Spring/Summer 2012 collection but with their creative forward thinking, we are seeing this style of print as a key reference point for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2013 catwalk shows. Mixing photo floral elements, abstract surreal backdrops and digitally manipulated imagery, Basso & Brooke are definitely the designers to keep an eye on for upcoming digital print trends.
