Alexander Korzer Robinson Paper Collage Kingdoms inspiration

Alexander Korser-Robinson creates these spectacular scenes from old encyclopedias and whats more the images he cuts out and then reassembles, find their home again in the original book. Working through the book page by page he chooses some beautiful imagery but his aim is to find some sort of narrative and with the order being alphabetical it makes for some interesting juxtapositions. We love the use of these antiquarian books with their nostalgia and use of botanical images, animal montages, maps and diagrams. They create a little stage of their own with a story the viewer can only imagine. Works are available from antlersgallery.com
