Collaboration at Cope-Arnold – Darkness and Beauty

Nicolas Alan Cope and Dustin Edward Arnold are two talented photographers who met through a commercial project in 2007 and began their first collaboration in October 2009. They combine the mediums of painting, chemistry, sculpture, fashion and installation to great effect creating some impressive projects. Stamen (2010) featured here, shows their interest in the abstract applied to conventional floral arrangements, evoking a dark and almost decaying beauty that transpiers into other areas of their work. Emma Bennett – Dark Forces

These paintings by Emma Bennett stopped us in our tracks with their elements of still life set against expanse void-like grounds. By depicting fragile life forms such as flowers, fruit, small birds, fish and hunted game set against dark, monochromatic grounds, Bennett engages with notions of time, transience, life, death and life after death.
