We’re loving these paintings by Brooklyn based Michael Dotson who graduated from the American University in Washington DC in 2011. Incorporating a surrealist mix of Tron like futurism, neon 80′s tinged colours and a juxtaposition of organic foliage, patterns and hard angles these paintings are truly stunning. Go check his website for more or his Flickr page.

These beautiful set of photographs of decaying orchids, roses and leaves were shot by Billy Kidd, an extremely talented photographer based in New York. Usually confined to the bin at this stage of their life, Billy captures the immense beauty, faded colours, wrinkles and fine details of the decaying flowers and foliage on a black background which adds to the subtle drama. Check out more of his amazing photographs on his Tumblr – I was shot by Billy Kidd.

As paint drips down the canvas we are reminded of the urgency in time to record our thoughts and visions of the world around us. These fleeting moments when beauty surprises and astounds us are shared in Dickter’s desire to create and record the natural world. Dickter captures this with exquisiteness in marks, colour and paint, images of birds and flowers that appear frozen for us to enjoy. You can see more of these fleeting moments at michaeldickter.com

Jonathan McCree’s landscape paintings take us on an uncharted journey where he plays with scale, colour and perspective. Canvases are torn and cut up then re-assembled so that traditional devices such as foreground, middle and distance become redundant creating a picture with many interesting levels. McCree studied at the University of Sussex and has exhibited world-wide including Art Miami and Palm Beach Art Fair. You can see more of his work at jonathanmccree.com
