Imperfect Printed Charm Charlotte Farmer inspiration

These beautifully crafted screen prints are the work of fine art print maker Charlotte Farmer. Charlotte studied Fine Art Printmaking at Cheltenham and Gloucester college, followed a few years later by a masters degree in Communication Design, specialising in illustration at Central St Martins, graduating in 2006. She describes her work as a combination of low tech printing methods, small intense detail, contrasted with mistakes, imperfections & a bit of more gestural mark making. Lisa A Frank Nature of Pattern inspiration

These beautiful photographic patterns are constructed from daily snapshots that Lisa A Frank takes while walking in the woods, then the images are “sewn” together through extreme image layering and masking. From the Artists Statement “Choosing to focus on natural elements that are not commonly appreciated or used for decorative purposes, my artwork is connected to the “wildness” in nature even as it is taming it by the cre-ation of formal patterning. Creating a context for connection, it is my purpose to draw the viewer into a local world as it hasn’t been seen before – charged with wonder – rich, complex and changeable while being inclusive and accessible.” For more of these wonderful and magical patterns check out Lisa A Frank Photography.

Stefan Saalfeld Interference Patterns inspiration

Stefan Saalfeld creates these fascinating compositions of geometric patterns, textures and brightly coloured abstractions that look that they’ve been affected by some sort of interplanetary interference. We love the edgy, random, glitchy quality of these works together with a raw energy that make them leap out at you. For much more of Stefan’s fascinating work check his website stefansaalfeld.de. via Triangulation

Cilla Ramnek Many Patterns print pattern

Artist, designer and set designer, Cilla Ramnek has worked on many commissions from stunning floor coverings made of glass mosaics to creating artworks for various cafes and restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden. We love the way she mixes pattern and colour, experimenting with scale with references to traditional folk wear, fair isle and knitwear patterns but with a modern twist. You may also recognise her work for Ikea with her skill for pattern making commissioned for rug and fabric designs. Her talents don’t end there with a couple of publications on interiors and craft and knitwear designs. Check out all her achievements at cillaramnek.com

Mario Kolaric Diary Fragments inspiration

We love the simplicity of these experimental drawings by Croatia based visual artist Mario Kolaric, the set entitled ‘Diary Fragments’ is an ongoing project which consist of selected drawings from his diary. Obviously painstakingly hand drawn they look like they could have been generated by an early computer mapping fragments of random objects. The beautiful simplicity of line and colour on textured paper is simply stunning. Check out his website for more excellent work and his Tumblr.
