Analog Halftones Kris Trappeniers graphics

Experimenting with new techniques can be a key part of elevating artworks. Patternbank recently stumbled across Kris Trappeniers a Belgium – based artist. Describing himself as a “paper sculptor” we were in awe at his incredibly delicate portraits.  Using just a ballpoint pen and a sharp scalpel Trappeniers painstakingly cuts out his artworks to create these linear halftone effects – simply stunning stuff.

Sexy Beast Graphics Justin Harder graphics

Strong, bold graphic work from LA based multi-media designer Justin Harder. Most of his work is for music videos and commercials but his still graphics work, with stylised vector illustrations and vivid colour use is a strong graphic trend for 2013. He also writes Yoems (yes, it’s meant to be a ‘Y’, Justin’s own word) – here’s a short, modest one from 2011:

I am a sexy Beast
On a long leash
Fighting for peace.

Nice one Justin – we think your Graphics are pretty sexy too – go check out more of his creative output at justinharder.la
